After 4+ years of tireless work, we learned today that our petition drive to place the issue of creating and funding a Boulder Public Library District on the ballot this fall was a success!
UPDATE: The library district tax measure is now known officially as ballot issue 6C.
To qualify, we needed valid signatures from 100 registered voters who live in the proposed district. In the end, Boulder County validated more than 300!
Thank you to everyone who has supported this endeavor!
But we will not win without additional financial support.
We know you understand that libraries are critical social infrastructure for our changing world, building literacy, equity, and community. Now, can you help us reach our neighbors?
To win in November, we must be able to reach tens of thousands of voters wherever they are — at their doors and on their phones, in print and online, and at neighborhood gatherings and community events.
Please donate today to help us launch the next phase of our campaign. We’ll give you a colorful ‘Yes on 6C’ yard sign to display your support!
As we get into gear for Boulder library ballot measure 6C to secure a stable funding future for our Boulder libraries, we’ll use this space to cover some of the details on the library district proposal that might be of interest to the public as this campaign moves ahead. Ballot issue 6C to fund our libraries will ensure that Boulder Public Library has long-term funding via a library district. We can't keep our libraries underfunded and closed.
